Consistent perfect visualization can "create" the shot as much as real practice! 

Article: "Mental Rehersal & Visualization" by Joe Haefner (citing University of Chicago study by Dr. Judd Biasiotto which showed that a control group simply visualizing perfect free throws improved as much as another control group that actually practiced free throws)
